About Us
Classic Cellar Design operates as a full design-build wine cellar firm, serving as both the wine cellar designer and builder for each project. Founded in 2001, Classic Cellar Design is based in Sterling, Virginia.
Over the years, we have served homeowners throughout Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC, creating custom wine cellar rooms. All projects are designed and fabricated locally to ensure consistent quality and attention to detail.
Our work is led by founder, wine cellar designer, and sommelier Steve Goldstein. His understanding of wine, proper storage, and cellar design helps bring each client’s design vision to life while ensuring their collection is stored correctly and functions well within the space.
By handling cooling coordination, racking design, fabrication, and installation in house, we maintain full control of each project. This ensures proper integration of all components and layers necessary for a successful result.
Our Process
Classic Cellar Design follows a clear, proven process to create custom wine cellar rooms that are both functional and well built. Every project moves through three main stages:
Wine Cellar Design
Our wine cellar designers use 3D visualization and technical drawings to develop a custom layout and help clients clearly understand the details of the wine cellar before fabrication begins.
Custom Wine Cellar Fabrication
All custom wine cellar racking and cabinetry is fabricated in our local cabinet shop in Sterling, Virginia. Building in-house allows us to control materials, finishes, and quality throughout the process.
